London is jam-packed with eateries serving up dishes from every corner of the globe – and Kensington is home to some of the most elegant. With a dizzying amount of choice, deciding where to go isn’t easy – but Chakra is one restaurant that has cracked the secret to drawing in the crowds.
Chakra’s unique take on Indian fine dining has long attracted foodies. Based on the traditions of the Royal Maharajah kitchen, our menu includes recipes from Punjab and the Northwest Frontier of India – all with an innovative modern twist. Inspired by classic Indian spices, our flavour combinations have always made us a stand-out Pan Asian restaurant, winning us rave reviews and a clutch of awards. But what really makes us popular is our food presentation.
Over the past few years, Instagram has led a revolution in the way we experience food, and the way restaurants serve it. When every phone is a camera and a hotlink to the rest of the world, you can share the things you love in a matter of moments. And if you’re at a café with the prettiest cakes, or a bar with seriously impressive cocktails, you’ll want to get a picture. Of course, everyone wants to enjoy delicious food and top-notch service – but we eat with our eyes first.
At Chakra, food presentation has always been important to us. Our original restaurant in Notting Hill was known for its opulent decoration and lavish banquets. Since moving to Kensington in February, we’ve changed things up a little. Our new restaurant has an intimate, boutique feel, and our dishes have been given a modern upgrade. The same incredible flavours now come with an innovative avant garde look.
Our unique presentation is the brain child of head chef Tai. With a passion for bringing a new twist on Indian cuisine, Tai and our team are always creating new ways to impress and delight our guests – just watch out for our new autumn menu. Clean black slates are the perfect backdrop for our food, making all those beautiful bright colours really pop. Scattered fresh herbs and streaks of chutney make a bold statement, breaking up the colour palette and adding texture. If you want Indian food with a difference in London, there’s nowhere better to go.
Spaces are limited at Chakra on Holland Street. To avoid disappointment, make a reservation online or call 020 7229 2115.
