Roaring Success: Supperclub Event with Guest Chef Saurav Nath Sells Out

Every seat was taken at Chakra last Saturday for guest chef Saurav Nath’s Supperclub. The lunchtime event, An Indian Food Journey with Molecular Gastronomy, was organised by food and hospitality consultant Humayun Hussain. The food was prepared by Nath at our exclusive modern Indian restaurant on Holland Street in Kensington.

The gourmets gathering for a taste of modern Indian cooking included food writers and industry specialists. The nine-course feast was a resounding success. Diners were treated to molecular twists on Mulligatawny soup, Scottish salmon with samphire fritters and lamb osso buco with Basmati rice and mini naan breads.


Michelin Starred CV


Jameel Lalani, the founder of high end tea importers Lalani and Co., described the meal as, “…a fabulous array of wonderful dishes…” and offered his congratulations to the chef. Chef Nath counts amongst his credentials such Michelin-starred restaurants as Benares and Gymkhana along with the acclaimed casual dining restaurant Inito.  

Gary Berry, of the food blog The Foodaholic, had nothing but praise the meal, he especially enjoyed his pudding:


“Garam masala and chilli infused chocolate mousse, poached pears, hot gulab jamun and milk soil. My goodness, what a stunning dessert.” 


The long and leisurely lunch came to a close with a wonderful herbal tea made with celeriac and aromatic spices and the diners left feeling well satiated.

We will certainly be looking to repeat the success of the Supperclub event. Chakra will be playing host to Humayun and chef Nath in early July when they will be delighting diners with a completely different menu. Watch this space for more details…
