Profile of Guest Chef Saurav Nath Hosting Lunch on Saturday 22nd April
Posted on 21st April 2017
Lunch at Chakra tomorrow is courtesy of guest chef Saurav Nath. Diners at our Kensington restaurant will be treated to a feast of modern Indian cuisine. The event has now sold out, but we’ll look forward to working with Saurav Nath in future collaborations.
Saurav Nath brings a fresh approach to Indian cuisine. Because he understands the chemistry of cooking – what is going on at a molecular level when you apply heat to different foodstuffs – Nath has been able to add a new dimension to Indian food.
Saurav Nath has worked at some of the most applauded Indian restaurants in the UK. He is currently head chef at Tapasya in Hull where he is able to explore modern twists on traditional Indian flavours. Prior to this, he has had stints at Whitechapel’s street-food inspired Inito and two Michelin-starred Mayfair restaurants: Gymkhana and Benares.
The chef has a world of experience under his toque blanche. He has travelled the globe in search of ingredients and inspiration. He has cooked for the Sultan of Brunei and worked in pop-up restaurants with Pierre Koffman and Eric Chavot.

Saurav Nath says of his inspiration for Saturday’s meal:
“I wanted to bring together wonderful British ingredients and inherently Indian flavours and then marry them to the appliance of molecular gastronomy to give a completely new and interesting dimension to Indian food.”
