5 New Red Wines to try from our Autumn Menu
Posted on 8th November 2016

We launched our autumn menu last month and we’re sure you’ve had a chance to look it over by now. (If you haven’t, then look here!) Stunning game dishes, warming winter spices, and light salads that our guests loved so much over summer that we couldn’t take them off the menu… You’re in for a treat. But the food isn’t all that’s new. We’ve also put together a drinks menu for the new season, packed with over 100 tempting tipples – some classics, and some new. It includes over 50 delectable wines. Here are our favourites of the reds, new for autumn.
Lorgeril Cabernet Sauvignon, Les Terrasses France 2015
A rich, earthy wine with notes of cedar and a powerful nose of winter fruits, including redcurrant, mulberry, and blackcurrant.
Oltre Passo Primitivo, Italy 2015
Cherry, prune and date sweetness meet spice in this thick red. Coats the mouth like chocolate for an unforgettable winter taste.
Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz, Australia 2013
From the distant Rhone valley, this smooth wine combines savoury notes with the rich sweetness of ripe plum, cherry and pomegranate.
Ribero del Duero, El Quintanal Ribero del Duero 2013
A true winter wine. This full-bodied red has stewed dark fruits and delicate sweet spice at its core.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Clos de L’Oratoire des Papes Rhône 2011
Complex layers of flavour meet and overlap in this intense red. Perfumed sweet spices, bright red cherries, and earthy black fruits.
These delicious red wines are perfect for the new season, and make a fitting accompaniment to the dishes on our new autumn menu. Try them out for yourself. Make a reservation online or call 020 7229 2115.
