Chakra and the Art of Food Presentation
Posted on 8th June 2016
There is so much more to a restaurant than the tantalising smell, taste and texture of the food. The location and ambience of the restaurant, the attentiveness of the staff, the swiftness of the service – it all plays a part in creating a unique restaurant experience that guests will enjoy time and time again.
At Chakra, we pay special attention to everything that shapes our guests’ experience. As global luxury event organisers, we’re used to being adaptable, delivering impeccable standards of service no matter what the occasion or venue. Wherever we are, we serve the food our guests love. Our artisan chefs have considerable knowledge and skill in recreating dishes from all corners of the earth, but it’s our unique take on Pan Asian cuisine that’s made us famous.
For the past fifteen years, our restaurant and event catering was known for its bold take on Indian classics – but after we moved from Notting Hill to stunning new premises in Kensington in February, it was time to freshen things up a little. Keeping up with the fine dining world means constantly searching for new flavours, new experiences, new ways of creating something extraordinary – and the presentation of our food is an important part of that.
They say we eat with our eyes first, and our beautiful dishes excite the diners in our restaurant and entice those who have yet to sample the Chakra experience. Our boutique restaurant sets the tone for intimate yet refined dining, and we’ve reflected this in our food presentation.
Bright colours stand out against clean black slates, clean lines and regular spacing meet with the organic scatter of fresh herbs. Flowers add frivolity; a simple touch that keeps food from becoming too formal.
Stand out dishes come with unique presentation – lotus root salad in a halved wine bottle, chocolate soil dessert in a plant pot-style bowl – quirky twists that give them a sense of humour and aren’t quite what you might expect.
As each dish emerges from our kitchen, we want our guests to gasp as if they are at a lavish feast and the delights keep on coming. And they do. Our visitor Dena said, “The food arrives so beautifully presented that you don’t know whether to taste it or just take pictures.” Of course, we recommend that you do eat!
